About Sunflower Seeds

Every Monday I’ll post a short reflection, a simple musing on some aspect of spirituality— the everyday kind of spirituality that includes things like walking in the park, slicing an onion for the casserole, caring for a child, studying for an exam, reading a line from scripture, laughing at a joke, or mourning a significant loss.

Along the way I welcome your questions, comments and insights too. After all, we’re all in this life—this spiritual life—together!

September 29-30: Zoom Retreat

“Celebrating Three Gifts of Autumn: Wonder, Letting Go, and Peace”

This retreat, sponsored by the Sophia Retreat Center in Atchison, KS, runs from Friday 6:30-8:00 PM (Central) to Saturday 9:30-11:30 AM (Central). Whether you love autumn or are saddened by its arrival, this short retreat is meant for you. We will reflect on the sheer beauty of this season with its challenge to trust forces greater than ourselves. We will explore how autumn can lead us to deeper inner peace in a world often marked by unrest and adversity. The sessions will include input, scripture, music, videos, humor, and sharing. Cost is $50. (Scholarships are available). Check their website for more details: [email protected]

Give yourself the gift of this little zoom retreat. I hope to see some of you there!
